Kate has taken to drawing "still life," inspired by her stuffed animals. And of course she's adding a little flair of her own... this pony became a unicorn with a princess riding on top.

Ali in the Hospital
Ali, Leigh and John got a tour of Mt. Sinai Children's Hospital this week. Ali has been battling several colds with ease this winter, but the last one got the better of her and she was diagnosed with pneumonia on Wednesday. Who knew? One-year-olds get pneumonia. Bad news is that we spent two mostly sleepless nights in the hospital. Good news is that the medical staff were excellent and Ali is now at home making a full recovery in record time. Nothing like a good dose of the right antibiotics! Ali of course charmed everyone and was a favorite with all the nurses. The worst for Ali was taking oxygen in her nose... very uncomfortable with a runny nose!

Walking, Talking and Eating Everything
That's right, our little Ali is almost 1 going on 3. She's walking, gives us lots of preverbal banter, has 9 teeth already and eating everything she sees... except baby food. Seriously, no food is safe in the house. I've caught her a couple of times grabbing things out of the fridge when I had my back turned. Perhaps it's the influence of all those playdates with the hoards of 5-year-olds who run through the house every day.
We're most impressed by her absolute winning smiles, and real interest in reading (or at least turning pages). Such an angel. Here are some pics of Ali with Kate's playdates (holding court) and in one of her "dance" classes.
