Comedy Central Kicks off "Indecision 2008"

Got a nice note from the folks at Comedy Central re: the launch of Indecision 2008.   In truth,  I love Comedy Central so much that I would've blogged even a hellishly nasty note, but... nice of them to be nice:

In the dating world, single guys and gals need to be armed with self-confidence, a sense of humor and some interesting topics of conversation. That's why I thought your readers would be interested to know that Comedy Central's Indecision 2008 campaign (http://www.indecision2008.com/)  is officially underway, keeping tabs on all things political so that they can either laugh or cry their way through the upcoming elections, but most importantly, have something to talk about during those agonizing first dates.

The site is updated daily, with embeddable clips from the Colbert Report, Daily Show, and Lil' Bush. There are also customizable widgets and polls, which are also fully embeddable, so you can keep your readers in the loop on Today's Conservative Talking Point and what happens if they Google "Hillary Clinton + Sexy".

It's easy to stay up-to-date on what's going on in the world of politics, but I thought your readers/daters would appreciate a humorous take on what is going on in news today. The clips are always great to slip into conversation: "Hey, did you see the Daily Show clip called C-Span After Dark?" Those with Jon Stewart fever might even catch a glimpse of him seductively rubbing his chest...

Please let me know what you think of the site and please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments about the clips. If I don't have the answer at hand, I can forward it along to the right people at Comedy Central.

Check it out -- show them some love.

Free "Seduction" Music

We got a nice letter from the folks over at Magnatune:

We *love* ActForLove.org, and would therefore like offer your members a free copy of The Art of Persuasion, a "seduction music" compilation from Magnatune.com. It's a gorgeous mix, very sultry and urbane--and it features 12 different indie artists from all over the world.
Since Magnatune is a record label that's trying to right some of the wrongs within the music industry, this album giveaway is something we're offering to those with a particularly cool web presence -- those using technology in really innovative, progressive ways, and ActForLove is *definitely* one of those sites.
The album can be previewed here: http://magnatune.com/artists/albums/
magnacomp-persuasion
(please note, it autoplays).
And freebie copies can be picked up here: http://magnatune.com/freemusic
And here's a little more info about Magnatune: http://magnatune.com/info/
Thanks again for ActForLove! We're definitely fans.
So I checked out the site, and I must say... these are some pretty good tunes.  I'll be getting my copy (hey, it's free!).  Check it out...

Lieberman may back Republican in '08 race

Wow... seriously, I can't wait until Democrats have (hopefully) a bigger Senate majority in '08 and we can just tell this guy to go ahead and leave the Democratic caucus already. The vast, vast majority of Democratic elected officials supported him UNTIL he lost the Democratic primary. The least he could do is show some loyalty in return.

From Reuters:

HARTFORD, Connecticut (Reuters) - U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman, an independent who supports Democrats in Congress despite his backing of the Iraq war, said on Thursday he was not ruling out endorsing a Republican in the White House race. The 2000...

Domenici Breaks with Bush War Policy

Hot off the presses, from the Washington Post:

Sen. Pete Domenici (N.M.), a 36-year Republican veteran of the Senate, abandoned President Bush's Iraq war policy today by publicly endorsing legislation designed to withdraw nearly all U.S. troops from Iraq by March 2008.

Let's hope the tide continues on the GOP side...
