Bush: Losing his marbles on gay marriage?
(Cross posted at Daily Kos)
Well, it may be a stupid protest, or it may be brilliant, but regardless, we're gonna do it. For the rest of this week, ActForLove.org is going to send marbles to George Bush.
Why? Because we literally think he's lost his marbles. And we want to him him find them.
For the rest of this week, we will be sending one marble to President Bush for each new ActForLove.org member (you don't have to pay, just sign up). For each person who signs up to search for a same sex partner -- we'll send TWO marbles.
Here's why... with Americans across our great land concerned about the crisis in Iraq, the continued threat of Al Qaeda, soaring gas prices, immigration, and an ever increasing number of our citizens losing health care coverage, what has George Bush chosen to focus on?
Gay marriage. The question must be asked -- has George Bush lost his marbles? I'm serious. Captain Queeg was obsessed with strawberries... Captain Ahab was obsessed with Moby Dick... and our commander in chief is obsessed with... gay marriage.
Don't get us wrong -- there are all kinds of reasons to oppose this amendment -- it's unfair to our fellow Americans, it's bad policy, it's just plain stupid, etc. But... the question must be asked:
Has George Bush really finally gone over the edge? Has he lost touch with reality? Has he lost his marbles?
Well, just in case -- we want to help him find them.
Spread the word, give ActForLove.org a try, and help George Bush find his marbles in the process.
(p.s. -- we're very much up for creative ideas on what else we can do. So paste them below -- or add them to the framing brainstorm diary we did yesterday)
