Why We Love John Aravosis
If you've not yet ventured over to AMERICAblog to read the writings of John Aravosis, well you really need to check it out -- and this post is a great place to start.
You may know John from his work on PoliticsTV, or any number of revolutions he's helped to spur. But for what it's worth, I think this might be his most perceptive post ever, specifically dealing with the irrational "money-phobia" of many in the progressive community: "...there is something seriously wrong with a core group in our party, and I really think their loathing of money and power and access and anything good in life (and perhaps even themselves) is seriously hurting our party.
There is a core group of Democrats who simply don't like money and power. They distrust it on a such a visceral level that anything that even vaguely smells of either is immediately suspect and worthy of public ridicule."

Let me just say... amen, big time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with money -- the key is what you do with it. And you know what? There's nothing wrong at all with making pure enjoyment some of what you "do with it."
Most folks on our side of the aisle undertand this, but there is a core (and annoyingly vocal) minority that does not.
In sum: 1) Make money; 2) Enjoy it; 3) Do good with it too; and 4) Stop feeling guilty. Money isn't the root of all evil -- evil is the root of all evil.
