Folks, we're proud to announce that the ActForLove.org blog is now spinning off to its own site:
Headquartered at www.BareNakedPundits.com, the blog will focus on politics, but with the distinctly ActForLove-ish spin that you love (well, we assume you love it. If you hated it, you wouldn't be reading this, right?)
Check it out today:

I really love this site: "Save 2nd Base." These folks are fighting back against breast cancer, and doing it with a wonderful sense of humor.
It's raising money for the fight, and at the same time paying honor to a sister whom they lost to breast cancer. The sister, Kelly Rooney, coined that phrase. As the site points out, she never lost her sense of humor. Sounds like a very special person indeed.
Big kudos to them for this -- please support them.

Folks, you might notice a series of squares along the left. Those are our sponsors -- the people who pay for that space, and help keep ActForLove.org going. If you're an ActForLove.org user, please click on the ads, check them out, and consider supporting these sponsors (one heads up, however, some of these sponsors are definitely not "G-rated").
If you're an advertiser, it's a phenomenal bargain -- less than 50 cents per thousand views. (which is why we're part of the Bargain Blogads Advertising Network). Just click on the "Advertise here" link below the ads to start the process.
A few notes about our ad policy:
1) In general, our default position is to accept all ads. It's a liberal/progressive community, but we're not going to restrict advertisers to just our philosophy. If people want to pay to get their message out, that's fine, even if we disagree (realistically, however, we're not expecting Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly or any of their ilk to come running here soon).
2) We do, however, reserve the right to reject ads that are racist, homophobic, or otherwise just plain stupid. Also, we typically do not accept ads from other dating sites.
3) We do accept ads from adult oriented sites, because... well, because we're liberals, and we don't think sex is "dirty." So if you click through to sites, just be aware that they might be adult themed. We do, however, ask our advertisers to keep the ads on our site "PG rated."

Well, I don't think I'm guilty of hyperbole when I say that the Daily Show might be not only the best show on TV, but the best achievement in human history, period.
Accordingly, when I get a note from the good folks at Comedy Central re: Daily Show activities, you better believe I'm going to spread the word:
Senator Joe Biden recently made an appearance on the Daily Show, for a compelling and interesting interview with Jon Stewart. If you didn’t get a chance to catch it, you can see the clip here and also embed it on your site if you'd like to share it with your readers:
This was the first in a series of 4 presidential candidate interviews that Stewart is hosting over the next 3 weeks. Comedy Central's Indecision 2008 site (http://www.indecision2008.com/) will house all these clips, as well as keep tabs on a multitude of other hot button topics (Newsflash: Bush's Regular Poll Numbers Down; Fair and Balanced Poll Numbers Up).
Go ahead -- watch the clips. Show the Daily Show some love, folks.

Got a nice note from the folks at Comedy Central re: the launch of Indecision 2008. In truth, I love Comedy Central so much that I would've blogged even a hellishly nasty note, but... nice of them to be nice:
In the dating world, single guys and gals need to be armed with self-confidence, a sense of humor and some interesting topics of conversation. That's why I thought your readers would be interested to know that Comedy Central's Indecision 2008 campaign (http://www.indecision2008.com/) is officially underway, keeping tabs on all things political so that they can either laugh or cry their way through the upcoming elections, but most importantly, have something to talk about during those agonizing first dates.
The site is updated daily, with embeddable clips from the Colbert Report, Daily Show, and Lil' Bush. There are also customizable widgets and polls, which are also fully embeddable, so you can keep your readers in the loop on Today's Conservative Talking Point and what happens if they Google "Hillary Clinton + Sexy".
It's easy to stay up-to-date on what's going on in the world of politics, but I thought your readers/daters would appreciate a humorous take on what is going on in news today. The clips are always great to slip into conversation: "Hey, did you see the Daily Show clip called C-Span After Dark?" Those with Jon Stewart fever might even catch a glimpse of him seductively rubbing his chest...
Please let me know what you think of the site and please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments about the clips. If I don't have the answer at hand, I can forward it along to the right people at Comedy Central.
Check it out -- show them some love.

Wow... seriously, I can't wait until Democrats have (hopefully) a bigger Senate majority in '08 and we can just tell this guy to go ahead and leave the Democratic caucus already. The vast, vast majority of Democratic elected officials supported him UNTIL he lost the Democratic primary. The least he could do is show some loyalty in return.
HARTFORD, Connecticut (Reuters) - U.S. Sen. Joseph Lieberman, an independent who supports Democrats in Congress despite his backing of the Iraq war, said on Thursday he was not ruling out endorsing a Republican in the White House race. The 2000...

Hot off the presses, from the Washington Post:
Sen. Pete Domenici (N.M.), a 36-year Republican veteran of the Senate, abandoned President Bush's Iraq war policy today by publicly endorsing legislation designed to withdraw nearly all U.S. troops from Iraq by March 2008.
Let's hope the tide continues on the GOP side...

Folks, it's not often I ask people to buy blog ads on *another* site, but... here's a great site I've come across that is now accepting blog ad advertisers -- and sending the proceeds to the Utah Collie Rescue organization:
If you like dogs, and you want to help (and read some great dog-related content), check it out, tell your 10,000 closest friends to do the same, and consider advertising with these good folks.
